It has become known what measures Estonia intends to take against Russian trucks.
The authorities intend to strengthen supervision over the movement of goods that may be included in the sanctions list.
This was reported by the Postimees portal, which cites a decision made by the country's Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.
It is noted that the Estonian government discussed issues of trade between Russia and Estonia. And the issue of sanctioned goods was on the agenda.
Tallinn is concerned about the possibility that the country may facilitate the movement of prohibited goods.
In connection with this, Estonia plans to replace the current controls with a full inspection of all trucks that intend to cross its border.
It is noted that this measure may subsequently be taken in other EU countries. According to Postimees, Estonia intends to hold talks with Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland on introducing uniform requirements and procedures for border inspections.
Earlier it was reported that Estonians were urged not to visit the Russian Federation due to the threat of border closures.
