Estonians wanted to install buoys with blades on the water border with Russia.
Information about this was shared by the Deputy Head of the Police and Border Guard Department, Veiko Kommusaara.
According to him, the department conducted an inspection of the water border infrastructure, writes the publication ERR .
The results of the inspection showed that it was easy to cross the border in some areas.
Therefore, the department recommended installing a chain of buoys in these places.
Kommusaar noted that the possibility of building water infrastructure in the east of the Estonian border is being considered.
The issue of strengthening the border began to be considered after a series of summer detentions of unknown persons attempting to cross the Narva River.
In addition, the head of the Estonian State Centre for Defence Investments, Magnus-Valdemar Saar, said that the country is planning to purchase long-range missiles and drones.
