The Estonian Prime Minister assessed the possibility of depriving Russians of the right to participate in elections.
As the politician emphasized, there is no consensus on this issue among representatives of the Estonian authorities.
Kristen Michal's words are reported by the Estonian Broadcasting Company ERR .
It is noted that the Estonian Prime Minister back in July advocated depriving citizens of Russia and Belarus of the right to vote in local election campaigns in Estonia.
At the same time, the politician noted that there is no unanimous decision on this issue, since the Social Democrats are against such a step.
He recalled that in coalition governments such decisions are made exclusively collectively. Therefore, until the government reaches a consensus, the ban for Russian and Belarusian citizens will not be adopted.
According to Michal, he does not see any need to artificially create a crisis in the Estonian government in order to achieve this permission.
