Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the United States is supporting terrorists in Syria.

According to the Turkish leader, Washington is increasing tensions in the region.

In an interview with the foreign publication Newsweek, Erdogan said: "Turkey has suffered the most from the conflict in Syria. However, we support the Syrian Kurds."

According to the Turkish President, the United States, in turn, expresses solidarity with terrorists, not the Kurds.

Criticism of Ankara

Erdogan stressed that Syrian terrorist groups pose a threat primarily to Kurds, Arabs and Turkmens.
