The Cuban Assembly expressed its gratitude to the Russian State Duma.

Cuba thanked Russia for its assistance in lifting sanctions against the state.

The press service of the Cuban parliament wrote about this on its official account on the social network X.

Let us recall that Cuba was first included in the list of state sponsors of terrorism back in 1982.

During his presidency, Barack Obama removed Cuba from the list, but Donald Trump then put the island nation back on it.

In the past, the US State Department document included only North Korea, Iran, Syria and Venezuela as countries that support terrorism. However, Cuba was not officially removed from the list.

In this regard, the Russian State Duma adopted a bill to exclude Cuba from the State Department list. The document was created based on a statement from deputies.

It is planned that the State Duma's proposal will be sent to the UN and the State Department shortly after its adoption.

Earlier it was reported that Cuba condemned Western sanctions against Russia.
