The US Secretary of State commented on the introduction of new sanctions against Iran.
According to the head of the US State Department, such measures are necessary to limit funding for the Iranian nuclear program as much as possible.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a statement by the head of the US State Department.
Let us recall that earlier on Friday the US Treasury Department announced the introduction of sanctions against Iran.
The new restrictive measures include the introduction of restrictions on all persons involved in Iran's oil and petrochemical industries.
The restrictions also concern six companies and six vessels. The latter, according to the US, are linked to Iran's oil trade.
According to Antony Blinken, the US took such measures in order to limit Iran's income.
Washington believes that the country uses the money earned in these industries to develop its nuclear program and also spends money on developing missiles.
