On the eve of his 82nd birthday, the US President once again became involved in a curious incident.
This time not in his homeland, but in South America.
Joe Biden delivered a speech at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is taking place on November 18–19, The Telegraph writes.
The event was held in the Amazon rainforest.
Biden finished his speech, thanked the audience, waved goodbye with his right hand, turned around and walked into the woods without waiting for questions.
"Joe Biden wandered into the Amazon rainforest after delivering a speech warning of the dangers of climate change," the publication writes.
Journalists suggested that the politician did this on purpose.
He decided to take part in a photo shoot that would draw attention to the degradation of forests as a result of climate change.
But the effect was mixed. The scene has already become a meme and generated hundreds of comments ridiculing the US leader.
"Just goes into the Amazon", "Is this a joke? Starts World War III and goes into the rainforest?", "One last world tour", "And he was never seen again," read some of the comments.
