An unusual incident occurred at a press conference of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Rio de Janeiro.
A reporter from the British TV channel Sky News blushed after a comment from the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
How it all happened
A Sky News journalist found herself at Lavrov's briefing among Russian journalists, where Western media were not invited due to sanctions.
Zakharova proposed to decide the reporter's fate by voting. Russian journalists unanimously allowed her to stay.
RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan commented on the situation on her Telegram channel: "When you see real democracy, you blush."
She suggested that the British journalist was embarrassed by the unexpected display of democracy.
For reference
