Muscovites have been warned about 25-degree frosts and frequent icy conditions in the coming winter.
Changeable weather with low temperatures is forecast for Moscow.
This opinion was shared by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand at a press conference, writes Interfax .
He explained that frequent icy conditions and frosts down to minus 25 degrees are expected in winter.
Vilfand emphasized that there will be particularly severe frosts in January and February.
The weather forecaster also clarified that winter in Russia as a whole will be mild in terms of average monthly values.
He said that the weather forecast for the heating season from October to March was calculated according to new standards.
Vilfand said these standards have become higher than before because the winter will not be as warm as expected.
