A US citizen has been arrested for attacking a Moscow police officer.
An American named Tager is suspected of using violence against government officials.
The incident occurred on the night of August 12, RIA Novosti reports. The foreigner started a conflict near the elite Radisson Hotel.
The reason was the demand to present documents for verification. He also refused to report where he lived before August 12.
The American was taken to the police station for questioning. At the station, the man hit a police officer and became a defendant in a criminal case.
Currently, investigative actions are being carried out with the foreigner, after which he will be officially charged. Law enforcement officers are petitioning for the arrest of the US citizen.
Before this, the US authorities urged their citizens not to travel to Russia unless absolutely necessary. The State Department made such a statement in February 2024, warning of the “risk of detention.”
