Two Turkish citizens detained near Moscow mosque with grenade without explosives

Two foreigners were detained on the territory of the Cathedral Mosque in Moscow.

An object resembling a grenade was found on the men, reported the first deputy chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) Damir Mukhetdinov.

The incident took place in Vypolzov Lane. Here, the security of the Cathedral Mosque stopped two Turkish citizens, RIA Novosti reports.

They found an object that looked like an F-1 grenade, but without explosives. The police were called.

Law enforcement officers responded quickly. The squad that arrived conducted an inspection and established that the men had a souvenir item on them.

It looks very similar to an F-1 anti-personnel hand grenade, so the security guards decided to call the police.

Law enforcement officers were convinced that the object did not pose any threat and released the foreigners.
