Experts have revealed where road accidents most often occur in Moscow.

The statistics were presented by the AlfaStrakhovanie company.

The most accident-prone road in the capital is Varshavskoe Shosse, Izvestia writes, citing the company's research. Last year, Leninsky Prospekt had this status.

In the first half of 2024, more than 2% of the total number of traffic accidents in the city occurred on Varshavskoe Shosse.

Accidents also often occur on Dmitrovskoe, Leningradskoe and Kashirskoe highways, Leninsky and Leningradsky avenues.

Mira and Kutuzovsky avenues, as well as Profsoyuznaya Street, have become less hazardous.

Factors for the increase in accidents in Moscow include the increase in the number of cars and increased traffic in areas where road repairs are being carried out.

In 2023, there were over 8,000 accidents in the capital, in which 304 people died and almost 9,000 were injured.

The main traffic violations that led to accidents were failure to keep a safe distance and follow the right of way, as well as exceeding the permitted speed limit.
