Sberbank told about a fraudulent scheme that was used against Moscow residents.

The bank's deputy chairman of the board, Stanislav Kuznetsov, shared a comment.

He reported that an elderly couple from the capital had fallen into the scammers’ sights, RIA Novosti reports.

The fraudsters carried out a scheme against them that lasted almost two months.

First, the criminals stole all the money from the couple, which was kept in different banks, and then began to persuade them to take out loans.

In the end, it came down to selling the apartment, the cost of which is 25 million rubles.

A relative interrupted the implementation of this scheme. He contacted one of the Sberbank offices, where the couple had previously tried to get a loan.

The issue was denied because the anti-fraud system detected signs of fraud.

The bank employees convinced the couple to refuse to sell the apartment and explained that they were being targeted by scammers.

The deal was cancelled and the property was kept in the possession of the Muscovites.

Thus, the fraudsters first “clean out” bank accounts, then convince them to take out a loan and then move on to real estate.

The average amount of damage in many cases exceeds 5-10 million rubles, so scammers are ready to spend months on one person.
