The Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region reported that the head of the Sergiev Posad urban district had been detained.
The head of the local MFC was also arrested.
The above-mentioned individuals are accused of corruption, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing law enforcement officials.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainees under several articles.
Case details
As the police explained, the head of the city district received bribes from the head of the local MFC several times.
The criminals carried out illegal fraud between January 2019 and July 2024.
It is emphasized that those detained are accused of multiple bribery, corruption, and “general connivance in service,” as well as “patronage.”
It is reported that at least 15 million Russian rubles were illegally stolen.
Investigative bodies announced that they are petitioning for the arrest and detention of the defendants in the criminal case.
