The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Japan is attempting to put pressure on those who seek contact with Russia.
According to a Kremlin spokesman, certain states intend to build communications with Moscow.

This is how Vladimir Putin's press secretary commented on the statement by the Japanese Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi about trips to the Russian Federation.
Response
As Hayashi argued, Japanese citizens should refrain from traveling to Russia.
In addition, the Japanese official emphasized that Tokyo intends to continue its policy towards Moscow in the context of the Ukrainian crisis.
Earlier it was reported that Muneo Suzuki, a member of the upper house of the Japanese government, arrived in the Russian capital on a visit.
Suzuki will stay in Moscow until the end of July this year. He will meet with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Federal Agency for Fishery.
