The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the news about the liquidation of the Hamas leader.
According to the Foreign Ministry, despite the dramatic nature of the events, they do not represent a turning point in the conflict.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov expressed this opinion during a meeting with journalists, RIA Novosti reports.
Let us recall that the liquidation of Yahya Sinwar became known the day before. The head of Hamas was considered the ideological inspirer of the unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7 last year, which caused the escalation of the conflict.
Bogdanov emphasized that such events have already taken place in the Middle East, and they had virtually no impact on the intensity of military actions in the Gaza Strip.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that this is not the first time that the leader of Hamas has been replaced.
He suggested that the role of head of the Palestinian movement would be taken by Khaled Meshaal, who headed the organization before Ismail Haniyeh.
