The former vice-president of Evrazbank and the former chairman of the board of directors of the financial pyramid Sol Rusi were detained in Moscow.
An unusual story was told by law enforcement agencies in the capital.
Police officers at the Teply Stan metro station approached the man to check his documents, TASS reports.
It turned out that the person standing in front of them was businessman Vyacheslav Chikalin, who had been put on the wanted list.
The man himself told law enforcement that he was homeless.
The facial recognition database was used to confirm Chikalin's identity.
He was wanted in connection with a number of criminal investigations, including fraud and theft of several billion rubles.
For one of the episodes, Chikalin faced a prison term.
It turned out that the man had signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and had been listed as a participant in a special operation all this time, and had arrived in Moscow as part of a vacation.
Law enforcement officials reported that investigators are currently working with the detainee. After that, he will most likely be sent back to the special operation zone.
