Fraudsters robbed an MSU professor of a large sum of money

Another victim of dishonest people has become known.

Fraudsters, posing as law enforcement officers, robbed an MSU professor of almost half a million rubles.

This information was shared by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, on her Telegram channel.

As the investigation revealed, the victim received a call from a young man who introduced himself as a law enforcement officer.

He informed the professor that an illegal debit had been made from his account and offered to withdraw all funds in order to submit them to the police for verification.

The man did as the fraudster told him and handed over 460 thousand rubles to the taxi driver.

After the incident, contact with the fake policeman was lost, and the man realized that he had been deceived and contacted the police.

The identity of the fraudster was established. The police followed the taxi driver's route and at the destination arrested the young man who gave the professor instructions.

Investigative actions are ongoing, the police are determining whether the criminal had accomplices.
