The employees accepted bets from customers over the phone and even paid out real winnings.
They kept statistics and carefully monitored their activities.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches, during which they discovered 250 million rubles, as well as mobile office equipment, telephones and documents.
Based on the collected facts, investigators opened a criminal case under Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
One of the suspects has been taken into custody.
It is also reported that 16 participants in the scheme were given written undertakings not to leave the country and to behave properly.
As a result of investigative actions, illegal activity was stopped and suspects were detained.
