A Chinese citizen purchased a radioactive watch and was stopped at customs.
The details were reported on Monday, September 16, by the press service of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation in the Telegram channel.
The violator was a 35-year-old Chinese man. He wanted to go through the "green" corridor at Sheremetyevo.
But during the passage, the radiation control system was activated.
An inspection of the suitcase's contents revealed that the system was triggered by a wristwatch.
The radiometer-spectrometer showed that the radiation level exceeded the norm by sixteen times.
The passenger stated that he purchased the watch for personal use.
The item was confiscated. The Federal Customs Service informed that the accessory would be handed over to specialists for examination.
