The chief specialist of the "IA Meteonovosti" warned residents of the capital about the approach of a real cold wave.
Tatyana Pozdnyakova issued this warning on her Telegram channel.
According to the weather forecaster, on the day 2024 ends, Muscovites should prepare for the onset of severe cold weather.
On New Year's Eve, the temperature may drop to -10 °C.
The rest of the second half of December will be characterized by unstable weather. If at the beginning of the current week it is planned to be relatively mild, then by December 19, crackling Nikolsky frosts will set in outside the window.
Speaking about the weather on the eve of the holidays, Pozdnyakova warned Muscovites that they should prepare for both thaws with temperatures up to +2 degrees Celsius and cold spells, when the thermometer drops to -13 °C.
In conclusion, the expert said that such weather variability is due to the arrival of Atlantic cyclones.
