The capital has become very cold, causing problems with the roads.
Forecasters have warned of black ice, the thickness of which is currently at least 3 millimeters.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a statement made by Mikhail Leus, a specialist at the Phobos weather center.
As the expert noted, last night the European part of Russia was covered by a zone of icy phenomena, which was accompanied by freezing rain. It collided with a warm atmospheric front, which led to the formation of icy conditions.
This phenomenon has been recorded in the following areas of Moscow:
- Moscow State University;
- Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo;
- some regions of the Moscow region.
As Leus emphasized, the thickness of the ice can reach 1-2 millimeters.
The danger on the roads will remain until the temperature in Moscow reaches positive values.
According to the weather forecaster, the ice in Moscow will not last long. In the Moscow region, the phenomenon is already fading away, and in the capital this will happen in the next few hours.
