November has only just begun, but has already brought weather surprises to Russians.

Since the beginning of the month, almost 30 millimeters of precipitation has already fallen.

As the chief specialist of the Moscow meteorological bureau, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, noted in her Telegram channel, the figure announced by the weather forecaster is an absolute record of the 21st century.

However, similar heavy precipitation in November has already been encountered in the last century.

For example, meteorological studies show that in 1974, 33.7 mm fell in the first five days. This figure is 64% of the norm.

Let us recall that on the night from Sunday to Monday, Moscow was covered by heavy snowfall.

As a result, the snow cover in the capital at VDNKh has already reached 8 mm. There is also snow in Balchug (3 mm) and in the area of Moscow State University, where it remains at 6 mm.

However, this figure is not a record for Moscow and the Moscow region. The heaviest snowfall occurred in Kashira: here the snow cover is about 10 mm.
