Telephone scammers continue to attack gullible Russians and deprive them of their savings and real estate.

The press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office reported on the new case on its Telegram channel.

The victim of the scammers was a 76-year-old resident of the capital, who received a call from a woman who introduced herself as a bank employee.

She scared the Russian woman by saying that unknown individuals had allegedly received a power of attorney to manage her accounts.

The fraudster convinced the Muscovite to transfer money to a "safe" account, including cash that the woman kept at home. The pensioner did everything she was asked to do.

After some time, the criminals called the Russian woman again. This time they said that her apartment on Polbina Street was supposedly up for sale.

The scammers convinced a resident of the capital that in order to save her property, she needed to conduct a fictitious transaction to sell the apartment.

The Muscovite followed the scammers' instructions this time too. She lost her second apartment, which is located on Krasnodarskaya Street, using a similar scheme. The total amount of damage was more than 19 million rubles.
