The smell itself can be caused by poor hygiene of the pet or by marking territory in your home.
This also applies to cats.
There are dog breeds that naturally have a strong smell (Pug, Yorkshire Terrier, Boxer), and breeds that do not smell so strongly (Poodle, Pekingese, Spitz).
Pet hygiene
It is no secret that pets need to be washed. They need to be taught to bathe from an early age. Domestic breeds should be bathed once a month.
Yard breeds can be bathed less often. The smell itself is caused by fats that accumulate on the pet's fur.
Smell from the mouth
This smell can be dealt with; pet stores sell special toys to remove plaque from teeth. There are also foods that help clean teeth.
How to eliminate odors in the house:
- Do wet cleaning more often.
- Remove hair from carpets, as carpets not only collect dust but also odors.
• Use a vinegar solution after cleaning to completely neutralize all odors. Wipe the lower parts of furniture (sofas, beds, wardrobes) with a vinegar solution.
Bonus Odor Elimination Methods
Removable covers for upholstered furniture will help you save a lot of time, all you have to do is remove the cover and wash it. It is much easier than cleaning the entire sofa by hand.
Essential Oils. Add a few drops of essential oils (preferably pine). Take a spray bottle or atomizer and spray the mixture on the area where the unpleasant smell comes from.
