Often a cup of tea ends up in close proximity to a laptop.

If the laptop is connected to the power grid, you need to turn it off immediately (if possible, remove the battery).
The computer should then be turned upside down to drain the water. While holding down the power button, the computer is turned off (if the battery cannot be removed). This will prevent a short circuit.

Use paper towels or a cotton cloth to wipe the ports, cooling holes, and especially the computer keyboard.
Then it should be dried for several days (it is not recommended to use a fan or hair dryer).
After drying, you can try to turn on the laptop. If this is successful, it is better to copy important data to a flash drive.

It is very bad if tea or coffee with sugar gets on the keyboard. In this case, you will have to open the machine and clean the components.
