A rich harvest of cucumbers is always a joy, as you can make many preparations for the winter.
However, if the jars of cucumbers swell after canning, you can lose all your supplies.
We figure out whether they can be saved or whether it is better to immediately get rid of unsuccessful preservation.
The jar is swollen: what to do
Let's start with the fact that swollen jars should be no more than 2-3 days old. In all other cases, unfortunately, their place is only in the trash bin.
However, if the deadline has not yet passed, you can try to save your work.
To do this, make sure that the contents of the jars have not gone sour. If the cucumbers are OK, then the preservation can be corrected with salt.
First, the vegetables are thoroughly washed under running water, and then washed with a saline solution. To prepare it, you will need 20-30 grams of salt for each liter of water.
After washing, the cucumbers are left in cold water for 20 minutes, and the brine is boiled again.
Place the cucumbers in new jars, pour in the brine, drain it and boil again. After this procedure, you can roll up the vegetables again.
