Often, there is a truly spacious space floating around unused under the sink.
However, not everyone knows that you can’t store everything here.
Let's figure out which household items the space under the kitchen sink is a no-go area for.
What can you store under the sink?
In a kitchen with a gas stove, a fire extinguisher would definitely be useful, and it would be perfect to have it under the sink.
Here you can also place:
- broom with dustpan;
- household chemicals in strong packaging so that children and pets cannot get to them;
- buckets and other containers.
But the list of taboos may surprise you. Firstly, paper towels, toilet paper and any other products that are vulnerable to high humidity are not allowed under the kitchen sink.
Even if all of this is stored in secure packaging, there is a risk that paper products will become damp.
The same applies to pet food and litter, small household appliances and vegetables. All of these things do not tolerate moisture.
You shouldn't store light bulbs under the sink either, as they can easily break, and finding all the pieces later will be problematic.
