Raspberry leaf tea is a tasty, healthy and inexpensive alternative to regular black tea.
Every owner of a raspberry patch can prepare tea from the leaves of this plant and then enjoy it all year round.
There is a simple way to ferment leaves that will make you feel like a tea master. The process itself is divided into three stages: withering, fermentation and drying.
First step
First, you need to prepare the raspberry leaves and then wash them thoroughly. Remove the veined branch from each leaf.
The prepared raw material should be placed in a jar and closed with a lid. The container should be placed on the sunny side of the window for a day.
Step two
The leaves will dry out within 24 hours. After that, they need to be placed in a plastic bag and frozen for 24 hours.
Then the leaves should be defrosted and thoroughly kneaded in a bowl. Then cover them with a towel and leave for 1-2 days at room temperature.
Step three
When fermentation is complete, the leaves should be spread out on a baking sheet and dried in the oven with the door open at a temperature of 50-60 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
Helpful advice
If tea is prepared during the harvest, you can dry some berries along with the leaves. They will make the drink even tastier and healthier.
