There are always things in the house that seem to last forever, including pillows and blankets.
However, this misconception leads to unpleasant health consequences.
How to understand that it is time to change pillows and blankets, and not make a mistake.
Pillows
Experts recommend changing pillowcases at least once every 7 days.
However, this is clearly not enough to extend the life of the pillow.
There comes a time when it is time to change the pillow. The following signs will indicate this:
- pain in the neck and back after waking up;
- deterioration in sleep quality;
- The pillow became crumpled and lost its shape.
When to change pillows
Pillows need to be replaced with new ones once every three years, latex ones – once every 10 years.
Blankets
Blankets can last longer than pillows.
To keep the blanket clean, 1-2 washes per year are enough, with periodic airing and drying in the fresh air.
When to change blankets
If the blanket stops warming, starts to bunch up, has holes and smells, then it’s time to change it.
On average, the service life of a blanket is up to 7-10 years with proper care.
