Snow-white towels lose their whiteness over time.
However, experienced housewives know life hacks on how to extend the life of textiles.
And one of these working tricks is the Japanese method of washing towels.
Washing towels in Japanese style
The secret of success of people from the Land of the Rising Sun lies in three pillars:
- absence of chemicals and use of improvised means;
- strict adherence to washing steps;
- temperature contrast.
To bleach kitchen towels, you will need vinegar, mustard and vegetable oil, as well as patience.
Stages
Dissolve 2 tablespoons of mustard per 10 liters in very hot water. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 teaspoon of vinegar. Leave the towels in this solution for 12 hours.
After this period, we move on to the rinsing stage. There is a trick here: you need to wash the textiles from the mixture in which they were soaked by alternating water of contrasting temperatures.
First, the towel is dipped in ice water, then in very hot water. The manipulations continue until the towels become snow-white again.
