Whether you want to wallpaper one wall or cover your entire house, you will always have some left over.
Instead of feeding the "dry end" of the neighborhood dumpster, use leftover wallpaper to make stylish home decor.
The most interesting ideas (along with instructions on how to implement them) can be found below.
Floral bench
Remnants of wallpaper will instantly transform even the oldest, most uninteresting and damaged bench.
Clean the bench and paint it with two coats of metallic paint. When dry, apply a coat of varnish to give the furniture a shine. Leave to dry. Cut a piece of wallpaper to match the size of the tabletop.
Apply decoupage glue to the tabletop and put the wallpaper on top. Level it. Apply several layers of decoupage glue (before applying each subsequent layer, wait until the previous one is completely dry). Finish everything with varnish (matte or glossy).
Stylish screen
You can turn an ordinary screen into a small work of art. Paint its “frame” with paint, and cover the panels with patterned wallpaper. Leave all the elements to dry, then fold them into their original shape.
Patterned headboard
What child wouldn't like a headboard with happy birds, soft teddy bears or cute cats? It's useless to look for such a bed in furniture stores, but you can decorate it yourself using leftover wallpaper. Just cut out the shape of the headboard and then glue it to it with decoupage glue. As usual, secure everything with varnish.
Expressive facades
Do you think that wall units are a thing of the past? How wrong you are. Dismantle the shelves and doors. Paint the inside of the wall unit a slightly darker shade of blue.
Paint the front, shelves and fronts blue. Wait for the paint to dry. Place the shelves in their places and cover the fronts with wallpaper of the corresponding color. If desired, fix the decoration with matte varnish.
Updated chest of drawers
You can enrich a familiar chest of drawers with patterned accents. If the furniture is damaged, first remove the remains of the old varnish from its surface, smooth it out and paint it in a color that matches the colors of the wallpaper.
Apply additional coats of paint if necessary. When the paint is dry, paint the chest of drawers with glossy varnish or wood varnish. Leave to dry.
Cover the drawer fronts with properly finished pieces of wallpaper. Stretch it carefully and trim off any excess with a hobby knife. Once the glue is dry, apply a coat of varnish to the wallpaper.
"Modern" art
Why spend money on expensive wall graphics when you can make something that perfectly matches your interior design yourself – from wallpaper. Simply cut out rectangles that fit the size of your glass frames.
In the center of each such rectangle, cut out a place for your favorite photo. Connect the whole with double-sided tape and place it in an anti-frame.
Bright idea
You can also make a lampshade out of wallpaper. Wrap the wallpaper around the lampshade "skeleton", marking the width and height of the piece needed to make it.
Add 1 cm to each side and cut out the resulting rectangle. Attach it to the skeleton using spray adhesive. Fold the excess wallpaper under the bottom and secure with glue.
Patchwork wall
Such a wall is a wonderful and extremely inexpensive decoration for a muted, calm interior.
The key is to choose individual wallpapers (and other accessories) so that they match each other perfectly.
