Unpleasant odors can be very irritating, especially when they come from the sofa where you relax after a hard day.

To eliminate them, you can contact specialists or try to solve the problem yourself.

You will need to gather the following materials: vinegar, lemon juice, potassium permanganate (manganese), hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide), regular or aromatic table salt, starch, baking soda, freshly ground coffee, tea bags, pet odor absorber, soap, upholstery cleaner, and scented sachets.

The process of cleaning a sofa

To remove unwanted odor from upholstered furniture, take vinegar. Pour two tablespoons of vinegar into a liter of water. Soak a microfiber cloth in this mixture.

Treat the entire surface of the sofa with the vinegar solution. Let it dry completely.

If you don't have vinegar, you can use lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, or a pale pink solution of potassium permanganate instead. This should help remove the unpleasant smell left by cat urine.

Spread table salt or flavored salt evenly over the sofa and leave for ten hours.

After that, remove the salt with a brush or a car vacuum cleaner. Or use a mixture of potato starch and sodium bicarbonate.

These products have a porous structure and therefore easily absorb unpleasant odors.

To remove odor from a leather sofa, create a soap solution. To do this, dissolve some liquid soap and one tablespoon of ammonia in warm water.

Then, using a cloth or sponge, apply this solution to the surface of the sofa. After that, remove the soap with a damp microfiber cloth.

To eliminate the smell, you can also use odor absorbers for pets, which can be purchased at a hypermarket or pet store. Spread it evenly over the sofa and remove it with a brush after a few hours.

Alternatively, you can use tea bags or freshly ground coffee and leave them on the couch for a few days.

In addition, there are special products for cleaning sofa upholstery that can be purchased at household chemical stores. Before use, carefully read the instructions or consult with the seller.
