As soon as it gets warmer outside, you want to open the summer cottage barbecue season as soon as possible.

But it was not to be: along with the warmth, the bloodsucking vermin also wake up.

And if chemistry seems dangerous and ineffective to you, then it’s time to resort to folk remedies that have been tested by more than one generation.

Vanillin

Mix 20 g of powder with 1 liter of water and apply to exposed skin. The product can also be applied to clothing, then its effect will last longer.

In addition, by mixing 1 g of vanillin with 10 g of any cream, you will get an effective remedy for protecting delicate baby skin from bites.

Carnation

If you don’t have any vanillin at home, but you happen to have some cloves lying around, you can create a repellent mixture based on it.

Boil 3-5 grams of cloves in a glass of water for 15 minutes, then mix 10 drops of the resulting decoction with any cologne. This mixture should be applied to exposed areas of the skin.

Note! Although a mixture of cloves and cologne will repel midges for a couple of hours, the smell itself may seem quite harsh to you.
