Wooden windows are an excellent option for installation both in the country and at home.
However, along with environmental friendliness you also acquire a problem: even high-quality products often do not have the required degree of heat resistance.
That is why, in order to avoid heat loss, it is necessary to think in advance about how to insulate them before the onset of cold weather.
How to insulate wooden windows
An old and proven method that our grandparents used is insulation with paper. Although this method is not new, the insulation is always at hand and does not require additional costs.
It is recommended to soak newspapers with paper and plug all the cracks that let cold air into the apartment.
The second option is insulation using technical wool, which is tamped into the cracks using a sharp object.
Another method of insulation is the use of foam rubber. The material is fixed using paper tape.
Sealant and mounting foam are also used for insulation. In the first case, the glazing beads are removed, then the cracks are filled with sealant, after which the glazing beads need to be put back in place.
In the second case, it is important to wet the frames and then squeeze the composition along a zigzag trajectory. After drying, you will need to get rid of the excess foam.
