Many people find that the pressure in their shower leaves much to be desired.
However, do not rush to call a plumber: in some cases, you can deal with the problem yourself.
Let's figure out how to make the shower work properly without wasting extra time and money.
Reasons for low pressure
Weak pressure can be caused by the following reasons:
- a poor quality or worn out mixer;
- the presence of a water supply limiter;
- clogged shower head;
- clogged pipes;
- damaged hose.
One of the easiest ways to increase the pressure of the shower is to buy a special booster. However, if this is not possible, you can try to solve the problem yourself.
To do this, unscrew the aerator (the nozzle on the faucet spout that is responsible for dispersing the water), and then soak it in vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio. It is best to leave it overnight, then rinse thoroughly and put it back in place.
If the problem is in the mixer, you need to disassemble it. Unscrew the nut and take it out, check all the connections.
Another way to increase the pressure is to close the water stream with the faucet cap, and then turn the water stream on and off several times. This helps clean the faucet from the inside.
