Limescale forms on all kitchen surfaces that come into contact with water. Household appliances are also at risk of scale formation.
To get rid of limescale, you can use various chemicals, which are abundant in any supermarket.
However, they are harmful to the environment! Luckily, you can use natural products to remove scale that are environmentally friendly.
Ingredients that are useful for fighting limescale include vinegar, lemon, tomato paste, and baking soda. But how to remove limescale using natural remedies.
You will need:
- Vinegar.
- Lemon.
- Baking soda.
- Salt.
- Brush.
- Water.
- Sponge.
Step-by-step instructions for removing plaque from kitchen surfaces:
- Take a small bowl and pour 250 ml of hot water into it.
- Add 250 ml vinegar, 2 tbsp salt, 50 grams sodium bicarbonate and 2 tbsp lemon juice.
- Mix all ingredients well and place the mixture in an airtight jar.
- Let it sit for 2 days, after which time you can begin removing the limestone.
- Take the mixture and apply it to the surfaces covered with limestone. The surfaces to be treated must be completely dry!
- Let stand for 20 minutes.
Now, rub the dirty surface with a circular motion of the brush until it feels smooth to the touch. If the surface to be cleaned is quite delicate, use brushes with soft bristles.
Wipe with a damp sponge, reapply the mixture and leave for 10 minutes.
After this time, rinse the surface with a 20% solution of water and vinegar.
Useful tips
- To prevent future limescale build-up, remove excess water with a soft sponge after using the shower or sink.
- To remove limescale deposits from the toilet, make a mixture of 50 g of borax and 300 ml of white vinegar and pour it into the toilet. Leave it for at least a couple of hours, then flush.
