Cleaning your oven can be quite a labor-intensive and not always enjoyable process.
But with the right tools and methods, this task can be accomplished cheaply and effectively, without resorting to expensive chemicals.
Before you start cleaning, the oven should be cooled down well, as you can get seriously burned. In addition, it is recommended to remove all removable elements of the oven - grates, baking trays, etc. - to make it easier to clean the chamber itself.
One of the most effective and inexpensive oven cleaners is a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. To prepare this mixture, mix one part baking soda and one part vinegar in a cup.
Carefully spread the resulting mixture on all contaminated areas of the oven's interior surface. Let the mixture act for about 20 minutes, then rinse with water and wipe with a dry cloth.
Another way to clean your oven cheaply and effectively is to use lemon juice. To do this, squeeze the juice from two lemons and dilute with water – 1:1.
Apply the resulting mixture and leave for 20 minutes. Then carefully wipe the surface with a sponge or cloth. Lemon juice not only removes grease and stains, but also pleasantly refreshes the air in the oven.
To effectively clean the oven glass, you can use a standard cleaning agent. Apply it to the glass surface and leave it for a while, then wipe it with a damp cloth.
If the stains on the glass are too stubborn, try using a paste of baking soda and water, applying it to the glass areas and rinsing them with water.
Another method for cleaning the oven is to use steam. To do this, turn the oven on at maximum temperature for a few minutes, then turn it off. The steam that forms inside will help soften the dirt, and then it can be easily removed with a sponge or cloth.
Don't forget to clean the hood filter, which often gets clogged with grease and dust. Wipe it with a damp cloth or wash it with soap and water to remove dirt.
So, cleaning your oven can be cheap and effective if you use readily available tools and methods.
The dirt will be removed and your oven will look like new. Remember to perform the cleaning procedure regularly to keep your kitchen clean and hygienic.
