Many people think that putting warm food in the fridge can actually cause bacteria to grow, but experts have explained whether this is actually true.

Sweet confirmed that it is possible to put food in the fridge warm, writes Mirror .

She said, "The sooner you get her there, the better."

Sweet explained that it is perfectly acceptable to put warm food in the refrigerator. It is much better than leaving it on the counter.

In the comments to Sweet's text on social media, Marco Aguas, a food microbiologist, wrote, warning that placing warm foods in the refrigerator can increase the temperature inside, which will lead to the growth of bacteria and spoilage of other foods.
