Valery Antufyev, head of the Alfa-Leasing wheeled vehicle evaluation department, spoke about how scammers disguise a “killed” engine.

According to the expert, there is one main criminal scheme.

Antufyev explained: “Most often, low pressure is hidden in the engine cylinders,” as reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta .

This type of malfunction usually occurs due to loss of elasticity of piston rings or poor operation of the valve mechanism.

In addition, chips and defects on the cylinder walls can lead to breakage.

According to Antufiev, in order to hide such a defect, fraudsters inject motor oil into the engine cylinders.

This procedure is carried out immediately before measuring the compression. Oil leaks are masked by thoroughly flushing the car engine.

Fraudsters can also use special additives in their criminal scheme. This is how they try to hide the smoke from the car engine.

The expert warned that fraudsters are not above using high-viscosity oil in order to temporarily reduce oil consumption.
