Magnetic screwdrivers have long been used by professional builders, as they make working with them much easier.
However, it is not necessary to buy expensive screwdrivers in specialized stores, because you can magnetize them yourself.
There is a simple method that demonstrates excellent efficiency.
What is needed to magnetize a screwdriver
First you need to prepare:
- screwdriver;
- magnet (you can take one from a magnetic calendar or a disassemblable toy);
- a small piece of fabric.
Of course, the "power" of the magnet plays a key role. If it is insufficient, then a good effect will not be achieved.
Preparing the screwdriver
First, you need to thoroughly clean the screwdriver from dust and dirt. It is best to do this with a napkin or cloth to ensure that the surface of the screwdriver is clean and ready for magnetization.
Many people treat it with alcohol at this stage, but this is not at all necessary.
Preparation
You need to take a small magnet and wrap it around a screwdriver using a piece of cloth.
This will help secure it to the screwdriver and prevent it from slipping or coming off during the magnetization process.
Magnetization
At this stage, you need to be careful. First, you need to take the prepared screwdriver with a magnet and start slowly moving the magnet along the screwdriver in one direction several times. This will create a magnetic field along the screwdriver and give it magnetic properties. The speed of magnetization directly depends on the power of the magnet itself.
How to check the result
The first time you try, you may not be able to magnetize the screwdriver well. Therefore, you need to test it in practice by leaning it against a metal bolt or nail.
If the effect is not satisfactory, the process can be repeated using a more powerful magnet.
