A man from the Lipetsk region became a defendant in a criminal case after a conflict with his wife.

The regional prosecutor's office will provide details on Friday, September 6.

The incident occurred in the Yeletsky district, the department's website reports. In the evening, a 39-year-old local resident had a fight with his wife.

At some point in the conflict, the defendant grabbed a container of solvent and poured it over the woman, then lit a match.

He brought it to his wife and asked: “Do you think I won’t set you on fire?”

The woman managed to run away before the man moved from words to deeds. He rushed after her. But in his hands was no longer a match, but a metal object.

The victim managed to call the police. The law enforcement officers calmed down the enraged man. It turned out that he was drunk that evening.

A criminal case has been opened against the Lipetsk resident. He faces up to 2 years in prison.
