An incident involving two previously convicted men occurred in Rostov-on-Don.
When detained, the suspects offered armed resistance to the police officers who arrived to arrest them.
The RIA Novosti agency shared details of the incident, citing information provided by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Rostov Region.
It is noted that the shootout took place on Monday morning in Rostov-on-Don, during the arrest of two repeatedly convicted men born in 1974 and 1970. The criminals were suspected of committing several property crimes of particular gravity.
When police attempted to arrest the suspects, they engaged in a shootout with law enforcement officers.
One of the attackers was wounded and died on the spot from his injuries, the second was able to escape from the scene.
The police are trying to find out the whereabouts of the escaped accomplice for his subsequent arrest. The criminal's whereabouts remain unknown for now.
