Siberian customs officers have stopped a major smuggling channel for a strategically important resource.
Federal Customs Service employees prevented the illegal transportation of musk deer musk worth 50 million rubles.
Details were reported on the FCS Telegram channel.
The criminals used fictitious sales documents to legalize the purchase of musk deer glands and obtain permission from Rosprirodnadzor.
The smugglers planned to transport the musk deer musk, which increases sexual potency, to one country in the Asia-Pacific region (APR).
The scheme was exposed thanks to the detention of a batch of 4 million rubles ready for shipment. The total cost of the resource, which was supposed to be sent to the Asia-Pacific region, is estimated at 50 million rubles.
With the assistance of the prosecutor's office and the FSB, it was established that the director and employee of a company from Irkutsk were responsible for implementing the scheme.
A number of other people were also involved in this crime.
Two criminal cases have been opened against them. An investigation is underway.
