The court decided to collect 8.5 billion rubles from the former official.

As the investigation revealed, during his time in office, Furgal illegally appropriated 8,596,234,308 rubles in business income, which he did not declare.
The court found the demands of the Prosecutor General's Office to be legal and ordered that these funds be collected for the benefit of the state.
Circumstances of the case
Sergei Furgal was a defendant in a case involving two murders and an attempted murder.
For all of his crimes, the ex-governor received 22 years in a maximum security penal colony.
The second criminal case concerns the theft of assets from MSP Bank, which was committed by Furgal as part of an organized group.
It is noted that the defendant in the case does not admit his guilt in the aforementioned crimes.
