The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the reasons for the detention of the Deputy Minister of Energy.
The Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia is suspected of fraud on an especially large scale and abuse of office.
The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk shared details of the case on the Telegram channel.
The illegal actions of the Deputy Minister of Energy were revealed thanks to the work of Rosfinmonitoring and the Department of Economic Security.
It was established that from 2014 to 2023, employees of the Ministry of Energy entered into contracts with controlled organizations for the liquidation of unprofitable coal mines and open pits.
However, the work was not completed in full.
Despite this, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the state budget institution signed acceptance certificates.
Volk added that the operatives revealed the possible involvement of the detainee and other officials in large-scale thefts.
Previously, it was reported that the former deputy minister of energy and several officials had been detained.
One of the persons involved in the case, as confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is the current deputy head of the Ministry of Energy.
