The Moscow Region Ministry of Health commented on the tragic death of a woman in Podolsk.
The ministry denied rumors about a possible connection with the Coxsackie virus.
According to information provided by the department, the preliminary cause of death is related to complications of chronic liver disease, RIA Novosti writes.
An important clarification from the Ministry of Health was that the Coxsackie virus was not detected in the body of the deceased Russian woman.
Information that the deceased was pregnant was not confirmed.
Earlier, information spread on the Internet that the woman could have died from the Coxsackie virus brought by tourists from Turkey.
However, at present, no signs of the presence of the above-mentioned virus have been detected in her body.
As the Ministry of Health emphasized, the final diagnosis will be made after receiving all laboratory tests.
The woman's death is currently linked to an exacerbation of chronic liver disease.
