The Ministry of Education and Science issued a warning to students and teachers.
Fraudsters use several different methods to try to steal funds from victims' accounts.
The agency issued this warning to readers on its Telegram channel.
As the publication emphasizes, scammers are resourceful and in no hurry. They can "work on" their potential victims for a long time, so you should never make impulsive decisions.
The Ministry of Education and Science listed the most popular schemes that are often used by criminals:
- malicious links that lead to phishing sites;
- calls on behalf of bank employees asking to provide codes from SMS;
- messengers used to make calls;
- blackmail on behalf of the rector of the university where the victims study or work, etc.
It is noted that often the attackers have the victim’s personal data and can therefore gain their trust.
