The Investigative Committee has brought charges against the captains of oil tankers that recently sank in the Black Sea.

The department's press service reported on the progress of the investigation.

The investigation considers the captains of the tankers Volgoneft-239 and Volgoneft-212 to be guilty of their sinking, TASS reports.

We are talking about a watchman who was a member of the crew of the tanker Volgoneft-212. Some sailors also received injuries of varying severity.

Law enforcement officials will petition to remand the captains into custody until their cases are heard in court.

In addition, the wreckage of the tankers will be raised for examination.

This will be done after the weather conditions improve.

After the tankers sank, about 3,000 tons of fuel oil spilled into the sea.

Now specialists and volunteers are working to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officers continue to investigate two criminal cases.
