New details have emerged regarding the incident involving damage to two tankers carrying fuel oil.
Oil products spilled over a large area of the Kuban coast.
The region's governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, shared this information with subscribers on his Telegram channel.
According to Kondratyev, Kuban is currently struggling with the consequences of the disaster that occurred the day before, which led to a fuel oil leak.
Let us recall that tankers loaded with fuel oil were sailing through the Kerch Strait. Volgoneft 212 with 13 sailors on board and Volgoneft 239 with 14 crew members were wrecked by a storm, and the oil products ended up in the water.
Currently, tens of kilometers of the coast, starting from the village of Veselovka, located in the Temryuk district, and all the way to the village of Blagoveshchenskaya in Anapa, are polluted with fuel oil.
After the discovery of petroleum products, operational headquarters were deployed to resolve the problems of the environmental disaster in Kuban.
